Overview

At Heard, good communication means being heard and feeling heard. We work with people and the media to inspire content that changes hearts and minds.

The stories we hear about the climate crisis shape how we as a society respond to it. With the British TV industry turning its attention to crafting compelling shows about climate, there’s huge potential to make a real difference and break new ground in this exciting field. We don’t expect you to be an expert on climate change, but you must be motivated to translate climate and sustainability into TV shows that audiences genuinely want to watch.

We’re looking for an experienced TV Producer to help lead our work in the TV industry. We have received additional funding to expand our exciting climate programme, supporting broadcasters and producers, commissioners and development teams, in proactively seeking out climate stories and framing them in ways that lead to change.

The role

You’ll be an experienced TV professional with years of developing or making programmes under your belt, and recent credits at Producer level or above, eager to throw yourself into this exciting role. You’ll be working alongside our team of expert facilitators and comms experts. This role is focussed on shaping, inspiring, encouraging TV stories that talk about climate in ways that actually leads to change. This is done through bespoke workshops, consultation and events.

What would I be doing?

  • Pitching, planning and delivering behind-the-scenes workshops for people working across and with TV, inspiring more effective storytelling around climate change.
  • You’ll be working with our team to learn how we run these workshops and will deliver these alongside the team and independently. You will also originate new ways to run the workshops to maximise impact.
  • You’ll be working with sustainability leads at major broadcasters and streamers, as well as directly with commissioning teams, productions teams and talent.
