Heard Organisation Ltd (“Heard“, “we“, “us” or the “organisation“) is a charity that works with people and the media. We understand and respect the importance of your privacy and we are committed to safeguarding your personal data.

How long will we retain your personal data?

 

We review our retention periods for personal data on a regular basis. We will hold your personal data on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity or 12 months – whatever is the longest period of time. We are legally required to hold some types of information to fulfil our statutory obligations (for example the collection of Gift Aid).

 

Who has access to your personal data?

 

We will not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.
We will not share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
We may transfer your personal data to a third party if we’re under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation. However, we will take steps with the aim of ensuring that your privacy rights continue to be protected.
If you have given your consent, we may share your contact details with journalists and media professionals in the UK that are creating media content or organising an event with us, in order to put you in contact with these professionals.

Please note that we may apply a reasonable administrative charge for providing access to your personal data in certain circumstances. We will advise you of the charge and obtain your approval before providing you with access to your personal data.

Please note that if you request a copy of your data using electronic means (such as email), then we will provide a copy of your information in electronic form unless you ask us to do otherwise.

You have the right to ask us to stop processing your personal data, even where that processing is necessary for our legitimate interests (for example, where the processing is necessary for the social objectives we pursue as a charity).

If you have consented to us processing your personal data for a particular purpose, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, free of charge, by contacting us. If you withdraw your consent to processing, we may still contact you in connection with your relationship, activities, transactions and communications with us. You have a choice about whether or not you wish to receive information from us. We will not contact you unless you’ve actively consented to it.

We will not contact you for marketing purposes by email or text message unless you have opted-in and actively given your consent. We will not contact you for marketing purposes by post. If you have consented to receiving marketing emails from us and would like to opt out, please follow the unsubscribe instructions in each email.
